I am a life long plaid junkie and one day I was driving along turning the Rubik's cube inside my noggin and realized that I could make plaid digitally through applying transparent layers and turning them one click clockwise

The patterns Kate and Jillian are both cut from a painting I did of a bird for a show called Confluence

My very first repeating design work was created from the three piece series as single edition prints and were included in the show

My client had seen photos of a pair of skis I painted for my husband and wanted the same subject for her painting. She was largely in Africa during the time I was working on the piece. As it would have been impossible to modify the ombr background after painting the snakes I took many photos to send to her for approval before proceeding. I ended up creating this
