I added a textured pattern to the back of this piece which I made with recycled silver

This is a good sized squared shaped shield cabochon which is lightly domed on top with a flat back

It can take hundreds of layers of paint to make a one inch thick piece of fordite

I cut the stone from rough -shaping and polishing it in a domed oval

This fordite type has lots of metallic paint that gives it a nice shimmer in sunlight
